I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7
Reflections on Today’s Verse
This here is the ultimate measure of success. Not only with my entire life as a whole, but also on a daily basis. If I can truly say to myself that I have fought the good fight and kept the faith by the end of the day then I have achieved the ultimate blessing. The blessing of knowing that my savior is proud of me.
This isn’t a selfish reflection, but more of a inventory of my life and how I am measuring up to my savior’s expectations of me. I might not be perfect and sometimes my fight might not be my best efforts, but at the end of the day I will have kept the faith and He will be proud.
My dearest Father in Heaven, I pray for thy strength to be with me throughout this day. Protect me from idleness and from my carnal mind. Strengthen me against the evil hour that I may come off conqueror. I pray for thy spirit to help as I fight these daily battles. Bless me with the endurance I need to finish the race. Help me to remain true to myself and to my savior. I pray in his name, Jesus Christ, amen.
