Today’s Verse, Ephesians 2:4

But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy.
Reflections on Today’s Verse
The grace of God is beyond our comprehension. How can a God who is forever perfect love us so much? Grace means that that God loves us more than we can ever comprehend and that there is nothing in the world that can make Him love us any less. There is no greater love than the grace our infinite God loves us with. God’s grace is absolutely not determined on what we do; it is not earned (Ephesians 2:8-9). God freely gives His grace to us, for it is a grace of second chances.
And, lastly, it is God’s grace and only His grace that gives us a chance to escape hell and live in the perfection of heaven when we die. We are in debt to God for His indescribable and irresistible grace. We are saved by grace alone. So let this be our encouragement to share our salvation with others. There is no greater way to even begin to thank God for all He has done for us than to share it with others. God’s grace saves us from an eternity away from Him and challenges daily to live beyond ourselves (Luke 9:24).
Father, I was a slave to sin. Where else I can go? You have the words of eternal life. There is no other name under heaven by which I or anyone else can be saved but through your Son. Help me today to be captivated by the gift of grace in your Son. Let me know the power of the resurrection through the ministering of your Spirit in my life today—for your glory. Show me Christ today, Lord. In Jesus’ name, amen.
